The all-new Mercury Racing 1350 marine engine combines the excitement of turbocharged horsepower with humble fuel economy. To date, the 1350 is the fastest racing engine Mercury has ever produced. This new turbocharged 9-litre V8 engine, with a quad-cam four-valve design (QC4v), boasts 1350 horsepower and a 6500-RPM rev limit. With the addition of a stronger drive-train, 20-30% better fuel efficiency, and durable, long-lasting construction, Mercury’s 1350 is the new standard of off-shore power.

The Mercury Racing 1350 is truly revolutionary. Prior to the 1350, most marine racing engines were merely big-block automotive powerhouses converted for use on the water. The new 1350 was designed from the ground up for marine purposes and is the first of its kind to integrate water-cooled twin-turbochargers. Certain engine components (such as, the engine block and cylinder heads) are aluminum and help to reduce the overall weight to 1,720 lbs. Mercury Racing’s forward thinking, environmentally friendly design is compliant with national EPA regulations as well as strict state regulations (California Air Resources Board). Additional features of Mercury Racing’s new 1350 includes: a drive-by-wire throttle system, 11 color options, and a dry-sump M8 drive system that continually pumps oil throughout the engine allowing for more power and control on the water.
